Yesterday and today were sunny, warm with cool and wet periods. We have caught two more seals and continued with our maintenance work. We are almost done, with only one seal remaining to be caught and a few jobs to finish up. We are all rather exhausted.
A friend of mine, Sarah Wong, was a naturalist guide on the recent Adventure Canada trip to Sable Island. I met her on the beach a few days ago along with a few of the passengers/tourists. Sarah told me today how excited and enthused all of the people were with their trip to Sable Island, even though they only spent a few hours here and saw a small part of it. It makes me feel very fortunate to have spent so much time here (although I did sell my soul to science).
This afternoon, after we finished our work, I drove very slowly home enjoying the sights around me and being on this island. It’s easy to forget where you are when you spend all of your day engaged in work. The sun was still quite strong so I took a few pics.
